It’s kind of crazy to say this, but… we finally have a home.
After moving around, figuring things out, building piece by piece, this past month was our first month in a real, physical space. Not a pop-up, not temporary. A place where you can walk in, smell the coffee, sit down, and just be.
And honestly, we’re just really grateful.
In our first month serving specialty coffee in Charleston, Tracer Coffee has found its rhythm as a Charleston coffee shop rooted in community, quality, and connection. Located inside Live Oak Hotel, we’ve welcomed locals and travelers alike who are searching for third wave coffee in Charleston and a deeper understanding of where their coffee comes from. Through our focus on direct trade coffee in Charleston and a true farm to cup coffee experience, every drink reflects the people, places, and process behind it.

We Found Our Homebase
There’s something different about having a space that’s yours.
You start to recognize the rhythm of the mornings. The regulars. The way the light hits the bar. The sound of the grinder kicking on.
It’s not just about serving coffee anymore, it’s about creating a place people can come back to.
And that means everything to us.
The Coffee People Showed Up
One of the best parts of this month has been you.
The people who walk in and start asking questions.
The ones who notice the details.
The ones who come back the next day and the next.
We’ve had so many “coffee nerd” conversations, the kind where time slows down and you’re just talking about process, origin, flavor, life.
That’s exactly what we hoped this would be.
We’re Really Thankful for Live Oak
We wouldn’t be here without Live Oak Hotel.
From the beginning, they didn’t just give us a space, they welcomed us in. The managers have been supportive, open, and genuinely excited about what we’re building.
That kind of support makes a huge difference, especially in the early days. We feel it, and we don’t take it for granted.
The Food That Completes the Experience

We also want to give a huge thank you to the team at Terra, especially Chef Eucepe and Susan.
The food has been such an important part of the Tracer experience. It’s thoughtful, elevated, and made with the same level of care we try to bring to our coffee.
It’s been amazing to see how seamlessly it all comes together, good coffee, good food, and a space where people actually want to sit and enjoy both.
We’re incredibly grateful to be able to share that with our guests.
People Came From Everywhere
This part has been surreal.
Of course, our friends and family showed up, and that alone means the world.
But we’ve also had people visit from Hawaii, from Oregon, from North Carolina, people who somehow found us and connected with what we’re doing.
Seeing someone from across the country enjoy a cup of coffee that we sourced, roasted, and brewed, it’s hard to put that feeling into words.
The People Behind Tracer Here and at Origin

None of this happens alone.
Ashley, my best friend, has been right there, all in, supporting this in every way. The kind of person who just shows up without hesitation.
Laura has stepped up big time on PR and marketing, helping us tell our story and get it out into the world.
But the truth is this doesn’t start here in Charleston.
It starts back at the farm.
With the farmers who care for the land every single day. The pickers who move through the fields, selecting only what’s ready. The Q graders who taste, analyze, and protect quality at every step. The families behind it all, who have been doing this long before we ever brewed our first cup.
They are part of every drink we serve.
And we carry that with us, every single day.

What Else Could We Ask For?
That’s the question we keep coming back to.
Because right now, it feels like we have everything we need, a space, a community, support, and something real behind it all.
We’re not trying to rush anything. We just want to keep showing up every day, making great coffee, and honoring everyone who’s part of this, from the farm to the bar.
If you’ve come by, supported us, shared us, or even just told a friend, thank you. Seriously.
We feel it.
And we’re just getting started.
